Can anyone throw any ideas out there as to the ways (I am sure there is more than one) of doing this? Or just discuss....great learning project....IMHO

From my experience.... pretty new here.....use HPWM to control the voltage on the control terminal of, say, an LM350 via a transistor? I think I read in the specs years ago that the regulator passes a constant current out the control terminal so if you introduce a variable resistance, you get a voltage there that determines the output voltage. If you controlled the Vce of a transistor, then you could do this,,,,? Using feedback to another pin and ADIN, ...?

Feasible?

Have not thought too much past that though. For short circuit protection, I think the 350 has that. Cannot recall if you can shut the 350 down by doing something with the control terminal or not....and too late to start looking into it now.

Or maybe start from scratch and use Micro to do the regulation...via a Mosfet as a series pass component?
