the 5K pullups are a little high, and I'd recheck the voltage being supplied to the PS2 module.

Hmm. Well I just now tried it, but I couldn't find any 1k resistors so I was using 2k, and I couldn't get it to work. I rechecked the voltage applied to the Vdd pin of the PS2 controller and it read a steady 5V. I'll try and find a 1k and see what happens, but as of right now I'm still outputting all 00 000s. Does it matter if the controller is on or not during the programming? I've tried it both ways, but I was just curious. Thanks again for the help, I really appreciate it! I'll keep fiddling around with it and get back to you.

1 or 2K should work. Once I've connected up the PS2 module, I just leave it connected, shouldn't matter.

I just went and got some 1k resistors and put them on the DAT and Vdd lines. My reciever wouldn't turn on when the 1k was before the Vdd connection, so I removed it. I still got all 00s, so I really don't know what the problem could be. Something else I noticed, when I connect my terminal, the controller's analog light goes out after a few seconds. It goes off otherwise eventually anyways, but always after being connected with terminal. I don't know if that has any significance whatsoever though. I've triple checked everything from the wire connections to the code to the voltage input, and I don't really know how else to go about trouble shooting this thing. Any suggestions? Thanks again, I'd be screwed without the help...

The lights on the wireless PS2 controllers usually shut off to save power after some time. Why it would do it sooner because you were cvonnected to the terminal I don't know. I would highly recommend you get an analog scope(you can find them cheap) so you can diagnose problems like this. You've either got something wired wrong or there is something wrong with one or more peices of your hardware. Without some way of diagnosing it you are stuck.
