The first step is to download the documents which are located here:
http://www.basicmicro.com/BasicATOM-Pro ... _p_58.html

The next step is to read the above documents to determine the following:
1) how to power the Atom
2) how to interface/connect the Atom to your computer (USB interface is sold by Basic Micro)
3) how to program the Atom using BASIC; this will require you to write small programs at first and then expand on the basics

If you would like a more cost effective "beginner" processor I would suggest the Basic Micro Nano products...much cheaper to let the magic smoke out.

FYI: A good "geek" background is very helpful here...be sure that you have a good understanding of electronics, computers, and programming...but then again all of these items can be "learned" over time. Good luck!

Not a problem Nathan and thanks! Much of what "people need to know" can be found in the Programming Manual which has come a long way in the past year (good job by the way) but sometimes I have found that people don't know where to start....that is where the forums come into play!
