Dear all,

I'm confused: I've installed on my PC the last version of Basic Micro and the last version of IDE.
What is the difference between this two software?
Which is better used for programming the Basic Atom Pro 28?
Why IDE don't recognise my Basic Atom Pro 28 when I try to send a program?
Basic Micro reconaise my Basic Atom but the compiler don't recognaise the GETSERVO keywords!!!

Thanks!

The latest version of Stdio (the ide) is the latest software. They still have some legacy versions of the other IDES out there but you should be using studio.

The latest version (1.0.0.36 or 2.0.0.0) you can find under the news section.

I don't know of a getservo keyword. There was a gethservo command earlier for the Atom Pros. In the later versions this command was replaced by two new commands. HServoPos and HServoIdle. These are shown in the latest draft manual you can download from this site.

Hi KurtE,

Then Basic Micro Studio (1.0.0.36 or 2.0.0.0) is the only one official tools to program Basic Atom Pro 28?
But the BasicMicro ATOM IDE 05.3.1.0 that you can find in a Lynxmotion project what is it?

It is the legacy version of the old IDE that was specific to a type of Atom.
That one was for Basic Atoms only. There is also a legacy version for Basic Atom Pros (8....).

But the new Studio versions can do both of these as well as Basic Atom Nanos and the newer basic Atom Pros like the Arc32.

Thanks Kurt!

So, I can use only a Basic Micro Studio (1.0.0.36 or 2.0.0.0) for my project on my Basic Atom Pro 28?

I do not see the old ones any more and I know that they do not support them. So yes I would use studio.

Depending on what software base you are using I would either download the latest version 2.0.0.0 or if you are using some phoenix code, you may want to download the 1...35 version of it until someone verifies that the code works on the new release. Normally I would not hesitate to tell you to go to the latest release, but the new one changed the HSERIAL subsystem and if your code uses that, you may need to make changes.

For people with legacy code you can use the old versions, however we will not support any bug fixes in those versions(thats why there are new versions, to fix bugs and add features). If you need a specific version emails me(nathan@basicmicro.com) and I'll give you a download link. We have everything back to the last 8.0 release if Basic AtomPro IDE and well as all the Studio releases up to present, we just don't make the download links available on the webpage to stop people who are not legacy users from using the wrong versions.
