been trying again all day, i have tried the installer for the unsigned drivers many times also. i have also tried dseo13b.exe to boot windows up in test mode so you can use unsigned drivers, and i have also tried to install the installer and then update the drivers with the signed ones, using both test mode and normal mode. if someone would like to have a remote desktop session to try and solve the problem, i could set one up?

Hmm, apparently my reply didn't post correctly. Download the drivers from our website download section. Then follow the instructions in the txt file for installing the included FTDI 64bit drivers. When anyone has trouble getting the unsigned drivers to install in Win7 64bit we have them use the original signed FTDI drivers, but you have to follow the directions exactly or they won't install.

Makka,

Sorry you are having problems...I also have had "issues" with the drivers for Windows 7 which did drive me nuts for an evening!

Here are a few tips but as Acidtech said you need to follow the install instructions exactly!

Here are my hints:

1) Don't save files to the desktop...don't ask me why...trust over 15 years of IT experience
2) Are you logged in as Administrator (not a user who is part of the Administrator group...I have had apps in Windows 7 only install correctly when I was logged in as Administrator user)
3) You said that you could not install this on a Mac Book or two other desktops...I'm going to guess that you have a "bad copy" of the software on flash drive OR you simply need to install updated drivers for the USB Programmer. Really...the odds here are in your favor!

Workaround: Install Windows XP!

I watched the video. You aren't following the instructions. Please read step 19 again.

19. Follow steps 8 to 17 again but choose ftdiport.inf and select USB Serial Port in the selection window.

You are not selecting USB Serial Port in the selection window. Instead you are leaving USB Converter selected on the second part.

FYI - I know it works (at least for me), as I just did it 5 minutes ago to add the driver to my new DEV machine :D
