I'd like to communicate with my Nano28-based device on my Nano Development board in a terminal window on my Mac. Connecting my device via USB, it shows up in the System Profiler's USB Device Tree but how can I determine its serial port?

[If more details are helpful… I've used Python pyserial to communicate with my device on Windows by calling serial.Serial("com7") since my device showed up at com7 in the Device Manager. On the Mac, I expect to use something like serial.Serial("/dev/ttys0") but I don't know its port mapping.]

Thanks,
Jim

I got it to work! ...and I'll post my findings here for posterity. ;)

I installed the FTDI VCP driver then modified /System/Library/Extensions/FTDIUSBSerialDriver.kext/Contents/Info.plist to add a new Personality for my device using the ProductID and VendorID listed in the System Profiler. Loaded the kext, plugged in the device, and then i had /dev/tty.usbserial!
