Hi everyone !
I just got my basicmicro developpement lab (the one with the small lcd screen integrated) i hooked it up using a usb cable and i powered it on 6 volts. Now my problem (or maybe it isnt) is that the lcd screen keeps flickering while power is on. I dont know what it means, and i decided to stop using it before breaking it or somethin.. Also, however i try basic studio wont recognise any of my atom chips. (yeah theyre placed correctly) so if anyone could give me some advice on wat i am probably doing wrong i would appreciate. Thx a lot !

Welcome to the forums and BasicMicro.
The six Volts in may be the problem. The regulator "drops" some voltage internally and the voltage out is lower than the 5V the other parts need. Try using a 9V AC adapter and see if that fixes your problem.

So, why did you buy a microprocessor development kit? Where are you going with this? If you want to work with robots, BMicro and Lynxmotion are good for that.
Later.

First, thanks for answering :)

Yeah i tried all voltages from 6 to 9, witch was the recommended range, Now, this morning i skipped school, hellbent on getting this thing to work. Turns out this developpement board did not support basicATOM NANO chips (only regular and pro) and since the 40-pins is the same size for each model i did not realise it rught away. I noticed it looking at the supply voltage pins, witch were not aligned.. So now i returned this one abd ordered one that is NANO compatible. I'm ashamed of myself right now XD

For the reason i bough this.. Well, i kinda worked with those kind of thing at school (I study electronics at college) but not enough for my taste so i equipped myself to be able to experiment at home. I've got some household projects and a school competition to win however before i try pure robotics !

Uhhhh... Whoops!
Well, have fun with it wherever possible! At least Nanos are inexpensive!
