Hi
I connect the Q1-Q4 of the DTMF decoder 8870 to the Pin0 – Pin3 of the Nano.
To read the DTMF Number I tried:
DTMF var byte

DTMF = INN0

but is not compiling.
I used a while ago the Basic Stamp and used:

DTMF = INL

I tried the same for the Nano and it works fine.
The manual shows page 31:
INN0 Nib 4 P0 - P3
but the compiler shows:
“ Unexpected token type”
Did I misunderstand something or is something wrong??
Heinz

The current version of the Atom/AtomNano compiler is missing these defines. I've fix it but they won't be in until the next release.

For now you can access the pin using the old style names (INA for nib P0 to P3). INL is for a byte value. The new naming method for these is prefered because we have many more chips with many more pinouts than BS2. But the old naming convention will be left for backwards compatibility.

Hi Nathan
thanks for your explaining.

But Nathan…
if the commands of the Manual for the Studio are not compiling creates problems for the user…..!!
And if it happen different times,
it gives not so a good reference for BasicMicro……

The problem was a bug. This isn't a manual issue. The INN# variables were not in the Atom/Nano compiler defines(they are in the AtomPro defines) and we did not catch it. You do understand what I mean by a "bug", yes? It is an unforseen error in software. Our rule is if the manual says it and it doesn't work it is a bug and will be fixed. But by definition an unforseen problem can't be documented properly.

Hi Nathan
I know what a bug means; we even use this word in german.
And I understand your rule now…
Hope for your team, unforeseen problems will be precious few...
