Also Does the atom have a bootloader preinstalled or does the software do everything required?

Is there any coding on the chip at all - Ie if I get the OEM module can I replace the pic with another one once I have exceeded its lifespan of read write cycles..

Yes the chip has some on board firmware. The chip can only be replaced by an Atom chip.

I was actually working on that now. We will be selling just the chips. This will be on the web site within the next few days.
