A user in my office is experiencing difficulties when attempting to program the basic atom 40-m from Basic Micro Studio. He can program the old chips fine through ATOM software. When trying to program a basic atom chip(40-M) using Basic Micro Studio 1.0.0.15 I get an error message saying “A BasicATOM processor must be connected for automatic detection.” However, when I go to menu option Tools>Preferences and click on “Find Processor” it says BasicATOM 40 RevD found on Com3.” I can program the chip on version 1.0.0.10.

Any ideas of what's going on? I figure I post here while waiting on support to get back with me.

Thanks,

Things I would try:

1) in the drop down list that shows com ports, try selecting another port, then reselect 3. This has helped me with some similar issues.

2) I personally don't use the automatic as I like to compile first then turn robot on, then do program (yes it compiles again), but at least I know it will compile...
